Albatros D. III was single seater, biplane fighter of wooden - plywood and canvas construction. 38 units were bought by Polish Army from Osterreichische Fleugzaugfabrik AG (Oeffag). From 1919 serving in Polish 7th Kościuszko Squadron and 2nd Wielkopolski Squadron. In 1920, during Polish - Soviet war, Albatros was used to support ground units. Major pilot Cedric E. FauntleRoy (pictured, source: Wojtek Matusiak, "303 Squadron, The Complete Illustrated History, vol. 1", Red Kite, Surrey 2014, p.24) was commander of 7th "Kościuszko" Squadron, which consisted mostly of American pilots. This model represents his aircraft from 1919 - 1920 period.
