Flakvierling #3 / Shield & Remaining Details /

Assembly of Flakvierling has reached final stage. Front shield was mounted onto main framework. Both flaps inserted onto pins with no glue, can be dismounted or put in battle or transportation mode (flaps folded or fully opened). Rivets were applied only on the inside, I do not have any better material for rivets than 1mm plastic wire yet. Using this diameter might result in really odd look, moreover  references show rather small rivets on front shield plates or even none at all.

Backrests were added up to each gunner's seat. I used thin brass sheet cut to small pieces shaped the same way as paper to get required curve. Small diameter wire was used as supports. Ammo cartridges were made and applied to each of four guns, plus two spare cartridges in spares rack. At some point kit provides rather simple solutions,  there were plenty chances to use references and make scratch built parts that looked a lot better than paper counterparts. Following this way,  I extended upper and bottom bars mounted on each gun plate to connect with front plates.

All details have been applied, and assembly of Flakvierling was finished. This model can have: the guns elevated (arm holding the scope and one of the gun plates are connected with metal bar, both move at the same time), shield flaps and floor panels folded, shields taken off.
