High Queen Khalida #2 / Painting base & Guards /

'Sentinels at the portal of Eternity, Mighty ones who stand before the King, Valiant ones whom none shall pass, Guardians of the King's Tomb' (Hieroglyphic inscription over the tomb pit of Tomb Guards of Settra). The bravest and best soldiers serving the Tomb Kings acted as his personal bodyguards during their lifetime, they were honored to share his immortality after, and be buried close to their king within pyramid tomb.  The prospects of immortality inspired these soldiers to heroic acts of bravery, they would bring victories earning their place next to the King. They were also honored with partial mummification. (Tomb Kings Army Handbook).

High Queen Khalida #1 / The base /

(C Games Workshop)
The figure of Tomb Kings Khalida, I bought several years ago, when Warhammer was my only choice for modeling themes. Despite building mostly Chaos Warriors Army, I got this figure as it was simply eye catching and kept it with 'a plan' since. The plan has finally formed and got back to it with real deal of motivation and ideas. Some time ago, I built Necrosphinx from new Tomb Kings range, there were plenty components left over as two versions were provided and decided to use figures and some spare bits...
