Messersmitt Bf 109 E- 4 #3

Messersmitt Bf 109 E- 4 #2 / Camouflage & Base /

The camouflage scheme is very much alike Do 17's, green/dark green with light blue on the bottom. Painting started with white undercoat (small amount of Devlan Mud wash was applied straight onto white to try basic weathering) and airbrushing Space Wolves Grey on the bottom of the craft as well as flanks (major color in this case). When dry, bottom & midsection were masked off. Green camouflage was applied high on the fuselage and across wings.

Messersmitt Bf 109 E- 4 #1 / The Assembly /

Me 109 is one of the most (in)famous aircraft of all times, German fighter first time taken up to skies in 1935. Me 109 proved to have no match during campaigns in Poland, France and low countries. It's reputation changed after encountering British fighters during Battle of Britain in summer 1940 - Spitfires & Hurricanes (still on my list to do, in 1:72 from Airfix, and in 1:33 from Modelik).
