Iron Man Armor MK XVII #2

With all parts painted and recessed details washed with Humbrol black enamel wash, time has come for dry run of assembly. I did say before Dragon has done great job about frame joints, now I have to add to this opinion general fitting of parts. It is so good, I had some problems to take torso apart after dry fitting! Paint on the skeleton does not help as well, looks like every millimeter matters, at certain areas I had to scrape some paint off, should not have painted everything in the first place. Never mind that now, will have to carry on as it is. Box information does not say if it was supposed to be snap fit kit, imagine it could be put together easily without any adhesive.

Iron Man Armor MK XVII #1

After years of collecting and building models I realized it is not only about military, there are unexplored fields yet, that can prove worthy spending my time & money on. Attending modeling shows helped me understanding that, where I could see the splendor & variety of subjects across different scales. At the beginning of my hobby I tried building anything, years later my field of interests narrowed to Second World War, and now, for a change, I will be trying my skills building large scale models such as Iron Man and Thor (which I also have acquired), and if possible - all the Avengers.

la Résistance #4

la Résistance #3 / Base & Figures /

With light staff car built & painted, detailing of the base could start. To expand the scene, as it seemed too flat, I added cable pole that became one of key elements of the story, stopping but not destroying ambushed by Resistance German car. Before settling with cable pole many options were considered - from a tree (which is a model on it's own),  to simple sign post. To balance heavy action up front, section of Citadel's stone wall was added closing the scene from the back.

la Résistance #2 / Simca 5 /

Painting of Simca 5 started with dark grey undercoat. Mix of Tamiya's XF84 Dark Iron & XF 63 German Grey was used to paint the body. To achieve simple color modulation, more layers of original mix followed, with addition of XF2 flat white, applied to the most prominent areas.

la Résistance #1 / Setting the Scene /

Scenario of this project comes with two kits in 1:35, Tamiya's recent release Simca 5 car and French Resistance kit from Master Box. Main idea of this diorama is an ambush set by 2 members of French Resistance to capture German officer and his inventory.
